Michael Garfield is an evolutionary biologist, musician, &
visionary artist whose creative practice bridges art, science,
& consciousness. With a background in scientific
illustration, his work brings to life fractal landscapes and
“imaginal biology” shaped by the influence of festival
energy while he live paints, & his own studies of natural
systems. As host and producer of Future Fossils & the
Santa Fe Institute’s Complexity Podcast, he’s a leading
voice in exploring deep time, emergence, and creativity.
Garfield has performed live painting at major events
including Burning Man, NASA Ames, & Moogfest, &
collaborated with visionaries like Alex Grey & Android
Jones. He lives in Santa Fe, where he continues building a
body of art, music, & ideas that invites profound curiosity
about the living world.
Dream Magic Infinity Shadow is a Taos-based audiovisual artist and projection mapper whose work bridges the boundaries between technology, visual art, & immersive experience. He specializes in dynamically generated projections that respond to and enhance existing artwork, transforming static images into moving, interactive landscapes. Drawing from a deep understanding of color, form, & spatial perception, Marcus creates site-specific installations that merge digital media with physical environments, often integrating music, live performance, & hand-crafted visuals. His work has been featured in gallery exhibitions, live performances, and collaborative projects across New Mexico, earning recognition for its innovative approach to projection mapping & its ability to create fully immersive sensory experiences.
Marcus combines technical expertise with a keen artistic sensibility, crafting projections that feel both meticulously precise and organically alive, making him a sought-after collaborator for exhibitions, performances, & experiential art projects.
Filming of our event will be provided by a long time collaborator Space Helmet Pictures. Director, Documentarian, Editor, Producer of live shows at Meow Wolf, Launchpad, Tumbleroot, the Monttainai sessions, and the documentary Craving Community just to name a few of this prolific powerhouse of talent.
